Making Europe: Columbanus and his legacy 615 – 2015

This year 2015 will mark the 1400th anniversary of the death of Columbanus, Ireland’s missionary saint. The anniversary is accompanied by a series of conferences held at Bangor in Ireland, Luxeuil in France and Bobbio in Italy.

Since 2008 a group of Scholars from Ireland, France, Italy, Switzerland and England has worked together to explore the life and times of Columbanus. The project has worked to organise three colloquiums in Bangor, Luxeuil and Bobbio in May, September and November. Around the scientific programme a series of open lectures and events have also been organised together with the relevant local organisations and institutions.

So far only the programme for Bangor has been posted, but interested may contact the organisers via the dedicated website www.columbanus2015.
